Keegan talked with his mother, and even though his father was sick, blind, and dying, she thought it was a good idea for the kids to get out and focus on happy things today. So that's exactly what Keegan would do, focus on happy things, with his siblings, at the carnival.

This might be a good night, or a total disaster.

LQ wasn't that good at focusing on happy things. He didn't feel that he had anything happy to focus on. The only thing that was able to make him happy lately was Mewbry, and she wasn't here right now. Really, how could he be happy when the father he'd neglected to have any sort of relationship with for the past six years was probably going to die? Going to the carnival didn't make that all just...go away.

So he sulked behind the group being all unhappy and LQish, not saying much or showing any enthusiasm whatsoever. He could really go for a cigarette right about now.

This would be a total disaster.

Christine on the other hand, was totally stoked like a snowborder. Some people would say she's totally insensitive to the fact that her father was dying, but they didn't know about her inner struggle, whatever. She was sad, very sad, she was Daddy's little girl, but if Keegan said they needed to be happy, she could do that.

With both twins holding each hand, Christine was determined to have a good night, even if it kills her.

Julie was more or less indifferent to coming to the carnival. She wasn't determined to have a good time like Christine, nor was she determined to have a bad time like LQ. And she certainly wasn't going to force anyone to have a good time like Keegan.

So yeah, she was mostly just here because she didn't trust her younger siblings to take care of the little ones. She was ready for whatever tonight was going to throw at her, be it good or bad.

"So what do we want to do first?" she asked everyone.
