Pattyn didn't understand why, but she was at the beach today. Maybe she was really bored, or maybe Leonard wanted her to go, either way she didn't understand it.

She found a spot, stripped down to her little black bikini, that was strapless, layed down on her tummy and started reading a book. She was sort of doing what Bonnie does, not really reading it, but she wasn't doing exactly what Bonnie does, because she was reading some.

Noel was at the beach because he's Ughdarras, so any place with water is a place he wants to be. He was chillaxin, taking off his shirt to get ready to go in the water, when he spotted a pretty girl lying several feet away reading a book. Feeling in a bit of a playful mood, he smiled and faced the water. Knowing there was no way to get caught, he flicked his wrist and a huge wave came to shore, crashing right on top of the girl.

Pattyn was about to fall asleep on her book when a huge crashed on top of her. She jumped up and screamed, and Leonard flew up into the air, then flew down and clung to Pattyn's wet head. "This was all your idea!" she hissed up at the flying fox bat. She sat back down on her feet and picked up the wet book she was reading by the corner and pouted at it, "My book got wet."

"Well it's not like you were reading it," Leonard said out loud.

Noel laughed quietly to himself for a few seconds as he watched her jump up in surprise and then get angry at her daemon. Then he quickly wiped most of the amusement from his face and walked over to her. "You okay, hun?" he asked her conversationally. "The waves here can get pretty big, you have to watch out when you're so close to the water."

Pattyn looked up at the boy who aproached her, squinted at him, decided that he was cute and worth talking to, set her book down, then shrugged. "It was all Leonard's idea to come here," she replied, pointing up at her daemon. "So it's not my fault."

"Wasn't no one's fault but nature's," Noel replied, even though it had in fact been his fault. He held out his hand for her to shake. "My name's Noel. Noel Rene Mann. Boring last name, I know. Been thinking about getting it changed. So what's your name?" He smiled.

Pattyn shook back then looked thoughtful, "Rene, isn't that the name of the psycho clio who kills other clio? And Mann, are you talking the Mann's or are you just some boring stranger?" Finally Leonard climbed off of her head and she continued, "And my name is Pattyn Denise Baker."

"Yep, the very same. He's my brother you know. Half, actually. No joke."

"If by the Manns you mean the rich Manns then yes, I am talking about the Manns," Noel replied. So this was gonna be one of those clio who was only interested in him for his money. Sigh. Oh well. He was over it already. "I've never heard of any Bakers, so that must make you the boring stranger."

"Oh touche' Mr. Psycho-killer," Pattyn replied. "But I'm not really that boring," she said while stretching and laying back onto her wet towel, getting sand stuck to her. "I just get bored with a lot of things, like this book." She picked the book up with her thumb big toe and pointer finger the one next to it.

"Mr. Psycho Killer's brother," Noel corrected her. "Well at the very least you aren't boring to look at. And so far you aren't boring to talk to. And you're definitely not boring to watch getting hit with huge waves." He grinned.

"Well thanks Psycho Killers brother," Pattyn replied while sitting up. "You're not too bad to look at yourself." She finally found the energy to stand up, but still had to look up at Noel. "Wow Psycho Killer's brother you're really tall." She stepped back so she wouldn't have to crane her neck.

"Wow Boring Stranger who Happens to be Hot," Noel replied, matching her tone, "you're really short." He laid his hand on top of her head and pushed down very lightly.

"I may be short," Pattyn replied while ducking away from his hand. "But I can kick some serious ass." She smirked, then poked Noel in the tummy, and there was a little spark. It wasn't something that would hurt him, just one of those shocks you get when you drag your feet across the carpet. But that little shock made every single hair on Noels body stand up. That wasn't a way to kick some ass, but it made Pattyn laugh.

"Ow," Noel said, even though it didn't hurt very much. True, she hadn't kicked his ass, but she did manage to make him look silly. But even though she was laughing at him, he still couldn't help but smile, and then laugh with her as his hair slowly flattened out again. "I admit it, that was pretty cool."

Pattyn smiled, "I did that to my friend Alton once." Then she giggled, "We got into a fist fight after that."

"What a silly thing to get into a fist fight over," Noel commented. "Then again I'm not really one to fight with girls at all. Chivalrous or chauvinistic, you decide. It's just not my thing."

Pattyn shrugged, "I don't think it's a big deal." She brushed some sand off of her arms, "I'm pretty tough, sometimes I win, you should see how angry he gets when I win." She grinned mischeviously.

Noel laughed. "I would love to see that," he told her. He didn't even know this Alton fellow, but just the thought of seeing this little chick beat up some guy was really amusing, and also kind of hot. "I hope I'm around the next time someone pisses you off, or vice versa."

"I don't really get pissed off that easily," Pattyn replied. "Just when I'm around him because he's a very angry clio." She smiled while biting her bottom lip and scrunching up her nose.

"Ah," Noel nodded understandingly. "I never understood very angry clio. I'm not much of an angry guy myself. I just don't see the point, you know? I mean, of course I get mad sometimes, but I get over it pretty quickly. Anger doesn't do much. In fact usually it just makes things worse."

"Try telling that to Alton," Pattyn replied with an eye roll. "But let's not talk about him anymore let's talk about...something else."

"Let's talk about you," Noel said in a dramatic tone. "Your hobbies, your likes, your dislikes. What's your favorite color? Mine's purple. Do you like cats? How old are you? If you had three wishes, what would they be? When's your birthday?"

The quickest way ever to get to know someone.

Pattyn stared at Noel with surprised eyes, that was a lot to ask so quickly. "Well, my hobbies are laying around, hanging out with my friend Aeria, and eating," she replied slowly. "I really like sleeping and shopping for myself, and I don't like using a lot of energy." She put her hands behind her back and continued, "My favorite color is yellow, I don't mind cats, but I perfer rats and roaches, I find them in my house sometimes, and I'm eighteen" She thought about the three wishes, "I guess my wished would be to have my own maid, my second would be to have my own chef, and my last wish would be...that I wouldn't have to pay either of them." She grinned, "And I blew my candles out yesterday."

"Oh, happy birthday!" Noel exclaimed. He grinned. "If I had known I would've gotten you something."

"Now, to answer my own questions," Noel said, since he likes the sound of his own voice, "My hobbies are making friends and getting into things I'm not supposed to. I like the great outdoors, and I don't like my mother. I love cats-" He held up his daemon. "-I'm eighteen too. I would wish for Amelian peace, for my mother to suddenly become mute, and to have three girlfriends at the same time. My birthday is May 7th."

He smiled. "We have very little in common! But you know what they say. Opposites attract." He winked.

Pattyn smiled and couldn't help but say, "You're cute." She reached up and gently smacked his cheek, in a playful sort of gesture. "I like you kid."
