silent falls the winter snow

Roy was secretly so happy tonight. Him and his friends were finally hanging out. He missed them, though he would never admit it. The three were sitting at the bar, just checking out the clio dancing, having a good time.

And Roy was so happy.

Kaiden was ordering his third beer when he saw a girl that looked oddly familiar pass by where he and his friends were sitting.

It took him a second to realize who it was, but amazingly enough, he did. It was that girl from the restaurant all those months ago. She had slipped him her address, and he had taken her up on her offer. Weird, how long ago that was. It was almost like another life entirely.

It had been a while since Gage had hung out with his friends. A lot had changed recently. Gage had a real girlfriend and Kaiden had a frikkin baby. It was insane. Roy pretty much hadn't changed at all, but it had still been a while since Gage had seen him. It was also weird being in a bar without the intention to pick up chicks. Well, he didn't have the intention to. His friends probably did though.

He nodded at the girl who passed by them. "She was checking you out," he told Kaiden. Out of all of them, Kaiden was in the most need of getting laid.

Vivianne was out at the club looking for a good time. Speaking of a good time, she happened to notice a guy who had given her one several months ago. It was that Kaiden guy she'd met at the restaurant she worked with. As she walked passed him and his buddies (the same one's he'd been with at the restaurant,) she eyed him and smirked. Usually she limited herself to one night per guy, but maybe he could be different. He seemed like a cool guy, and he was pretty good-looking too.

She would wait for him to make the first move, though. She didn't know if he was still interested, usually his type was like hers; one night only. But if he was interested she'd give him a chance. If not, well, she wouldn't lose any sleep over it. There were plenty of other guys in this club.

Roy noticed the girl checking out his friend and playfull elbowed him in the arm, "You should go for it." He would have gone for it himself, but she seemed more interested in Kaiden, and for some reason, he just didn't want to. After he met Prius, he really wanted to stick with her. Weird.

"Nah," Kaiden said, taking a drink of his beer. Julie never left his mind, and now that Quill was born he didn't leave his mind either. And with two important clio in your mind, it was hard to think about others.

"You should go for her, Roy."

"She didn't even glance at Roy," Gage told Kaiden, smacking Roy in the arm affectionately. "Besides, you need this more than he does. You're the one who hasn't gotten laid in months." He knew this because whenever one of them had sex with a new girl they bragged about it to the others. "Unless you got back with Julie?"

"And even if she did," Roy replied somewhat reluctantly. "I wouldn't because I sort of met someone." He put his hands behind his head and looked around absentmindedly.

Kaiden ignored Gage's comment and instead focused on Roy's. "You met someone?" he asked incredulously.

"Since when has that ever stopped you?" Gage asked, as if he was one to talk. Before Roy could answer, Gage turned back to Kaiden. "See, you're the only one without a girlfriend. You have to go for it."

"Yeah," Roy replied. "And I do more than just have sex with her, the other night we went clubbing, and danced, but we didn't have sex."

"You didn't have sex?" Kaiden asked, his eyes wide. "What's gotten into you man?" It was so weird. "I mean, even Gage here gets laid."

"Uh, Kaiden, last I checked you were the one who hasn't gotten any action in months," Gage reminded him. "I mean, yeah, me and Roy might be down to one girl each, but that's still more than you've got." He didn't know why he cared so much if Kaiden got a girlfriend. Probably because he didn't like how Kaiden was changing for the better. He liked the old, immature Kaiden better. He'd been a lot more fun to hang out with.

"Yeah man," Roy said while playfully smacking Kaiden in the chest. "You know Gage is right."

It was true. The girl Kaiden cared about... well, she didn't even like him back. It was physical or emotional. At least not for Julie. And it didn't look like that was going to change. Kaiden had changed everything about himself, all of his habbits, his mannerisms, but he still hadn't changed in her eyes. At least not in the way he had wanted to.

Kaiden shrugged. "You think she's hot enough?" he joked, draining his beer. "Well, now she is," he laughed.

He got up from his spot at the bar and walked over to where the girl was. "Do I know you?" he asked.

It wasn't as smooth as he remembered himself being, but it was probably because his heart mind was back at home with Julie and Quill.

Vivianne looked up when Kaiden FINALLY came over to talk to her. Geez, it was about time. He musta been in the middle of a conversation with his buddies or something. She looked up at him and smiled, giving him her best bedroom eyes. "Hey, stranger," she greeted.

She pouted playfully. "You don't remember me?" she asked, standing up. She played with his shirt collar a little. "Cuz I remember you."

"Just messin' with you," Kaiden said with a wink, more smoothly this time. His little boy and Julie were still on his mind, just pushed back a little further. He'd never thought about it before, but it was probably best that he got over Julie.

"Want a drink?"

"Always," Viv answered in a cool, yet inviting voice, the corners of her mouth turning up a little. This guy was her type of man. The type who bought her drinks. "So I see you're still hanging out with the same entourage," she commented, glancing over Kaiden's shoulder at his friends. "Think they'll miss you for a few hours?"

"Who cares?" Kaiden said, leading Vivianne over to a different part of the bar and ordering them both a drink. She wasn't so bad looking at all, Kaiden realized. He actually thought she was better looking now than he had months ago when he'd first met her. Which was strange, because now he was like... in love with someone else. He decided to ignore the fact that he had just thought that last comment and instead wondered why he thought she looked better now. Maybe it was because he saw girls as clio now, not just something to get himself off. Whatever.

"You here with anyone?" he asked for conversation. He needed to get Julie out of his head.

"No, I didn't come here with anyone," Viv replied, being all flirtatious with her expressions. She expertly drained her drink in a few sips, knowing that it would take a lot more than that to get her hammered. "I'm kinda thinkin' of leaving with someone, though...if you're interested."

"Always," Kaiden replied, slipping one arm around the girl's neck and taking her empty glass in the other.

"Two more over here," he said to the bartender who slid him another few drinks.

Vivianne accepted her second drink with enthusiasm. After finishing it, she started to get that warm, comfortable feeling that she loved so much. "So, Kaiden Scones," she said to him, tilting her head to the side and looking at him playfully. "Do you happen to remember my name?" She smiled challengingly. Let's just see how smooth this guy really was.

"I'd never forget," he said, finishing his own beer and setting the bottle on the bar.

Oh crap... what was it? Veronica? Vixy? He knew it started with a 'V'.

"You're the ever so fantastic, Viv." He decided he didn't care if he had gotten it right or not. There were plenty of other girls in the club and one girl with the letter v in her name didn't mean anything.

Oh, he was good. "We have a winner," Viv replied, turned to face him completely and smiling. "How'd you like a reward?" She put her arms around his neck and moved in, until their faces were about one inch apart. "Well...?" she drawled.

Kaiden didn't want to be rude, but he also didn't really want to kiss her. But because he's Kaiden, the lady pleaser, and because he was trying to get over Julie, he went for it.

The drinks hadn't gotten to him terribly, but they still made this easier than it would have been if he was totally sober. Their lips met and he was kissing her. It was his first kiss since his big about turn as a clio. Again... he was thinking about Julie. If he wanted to forget her, he was going to have to try harder.

He deepened the kissing, slipping his tongue in between her lips and pulling her body a little closer to his. There, now he was thinking about her body, and not about his Julie. Crap, there he went again.
